I'd like to remove the soundbar. My TV controls the soundbar, so by having the TV already set up, there's no need to have the soundbar also set up - it's also causing problems with the 'one power' function. I've tried resetting the remote, but this doesn't work. Re: No Sound When Turning On (and other issues..) A solution (I think): I reset the remote and re-paired it! This seems to have resolved the problem... Re: No Sound When Turning On (and other issues..) Yes, Soundbar HDMI to TV HDMI (ARC). TV sound output is set to HDMI ARC. Can get it to work by 'forcing' it in the TV settings, by switching between HDMI ARC to TV speakers, and then back to HDMI ARC, it then picks up the soundbar and works. It seems these problems have only occurred since I installed the new 360 box and set up the 'one power' (no problems with the old set up). It seems the 'handshake' between the TV, soundbar and 360 isn't happening correctly, or in the right order. Re: No Sound When Turning On (and other issues..) After 2 hours of experimenting today: 1. When I turn on the TV the TV speaker sound is played for a few seconds, then it flicks a bit before silence... 2. Messing around with the settings in the 360 settings menu seems to have no affect. 3. In the TV menu, if I manually change the audio output from HDMI output to TV speakers and back again, the sound bar starts to work. 4. The red button on the 30 remote is working fine, I can hear the soundbar boombox humming when it turns on. No Sound When Turning On (and other issues..) I've got a Sony Sound bar connected to a Philips TV (HDMI 1) and the Virgin 360 also connected to the TV (HDMI 2). I've got the 360 settings so that the remote controls the TV and sound bar. Most of the time this works ok, but I have the problems below: 1. Always - When first switching on, I get no sound for about 5-7 seconds, the screen then goes black, then the picture comes back with sound (sometimes it flicks on and off a few times). At this time, we get various messages on the screen such as 'HDMI connected', 'RC Passthrough active' and something about 'ARC'. This is more annoying than anything else. 2. Sometimes the above happens, but we get no sound whatsoever. We either have to turn off/on again (which often doesn't work) or unplug the TV. 3. Sometimes the TV looks as if it's going to turn on, but doesn't, and just switches off again.... 4. Can someone please explain the difference between the white and red on/off buttons? It feels to me that the on/off sequence has to run in a precise format and that sometimes it doesn't quite manage it. It all worked fine with the V6...
