Yeah i would not stay with VM after contract expiration and pay £75+ a month for this service. Luckily BTO showed up last month so VM have made my choice easy for me... Re: My area has been downgraded from 1gig to 350mbps?? 1130 down, 104 up, which is as my contract My area has been downgraded from 1gig to 350mbps?? My contract is up soon and here I was thinking that my RFOG line might get upgraded to real Full Fibre some day and instead VM have downgraded my max available speed to 350mbps? Has anyone else seen this? Hopeless VM chat person said my area is under maintenance?? Re: 1gbit upload I realise I didn’t come back and update this thread when it was resolved so in case anyone else is suffering the same issue… Exactly as this forum had diagnosed - 4 upstream channels just cant hit 104mbps upload. On 08-04-2024, exactly 8 months after I raised the issue, David_Bn from support in this forum picked up my PM thread and did what I was asking, directed the case to Networks to ask them to to change my upstream channels from 4 to 6. That night someone in networks flicked a switch and I woke up with 6 US channels. It’s worked at 104mbps ever since and the upstream timeouts have gone. Re: Gig1 delivers 1 gig to hub but not to my computer So for testing, PC is directly connected to the hub5 (and the other ports are empty), amplifi is off, and hub5 is in router mode. And is PC wifi is disabled? is the hub5 wifi disabled? And the pc doesn't hit line speed. Check every part of the chain. I would test a different computer or laptop also connected to the hub5 via 1gbe, If that does get line speed then there may be an issue with either the NIC or your pc as you have checked the ethernet cable. If you can use a different NIC, either a pci card or the onboard motherboard ethernet port (i'm not sure whether your E2200 is a card or built into the mobo), try that. if that does get line speed then look at reinstalling NIC drivers for the E2200, failing that there may be a physical issue with the it. PS i am confused as to whether you are in Router mode or Modem mode on the hub 5 when you normally run it with the amplifi. your post says its in modem mode, but then you have a realspeed test which means its in router mode. if you are using your own router you should put the hub5 in modem mode. if its in router mode + the Amplifi you are double NATed which will be an issue. Re: Gig1 delivers 1 gig to hub but not to my computer To test, bypass the AmpliFi and connect the pc directly to the Hub, if you are getting gigabit line speed (about 930-940Mbps) that would point to a setting in Amplifi. If you are still seeing around 276, then look at the QoS or "gaming traffic prioritise" type setting in the NIC driver, if any of it is enabled, try disabling. Re: 1gbit upload They haven't come back with any form of actual response to my issue since the start of December 2023. As I said "Zero response from any one from VM, they are just not interested" What VM are interested in though, is continuing to bill me every month for a 104mbps upload without upgrading my line to 104mbps... Re: 1gbit upload 7 months later, and I'm still on 4 channels so not getting anywhere near 104mbps upload. Zero response from any one from VM, they are just not interested, Anyone on RFoG had 5th and 6th channels added this year? Re: Upload speeds - No real increase Are you on HFC or RFoG? I'm on RFoG and have had the same situation as you for 6 months now. The 30-50 call centre, WhatsApp support, forums support, "engineers" and "network engineers" at VM that I have dealt with in the past 6 months have absolutely no understanding that I need more US channels to hit 104mbps. Not one of them is able to understand the concept. It's utterly hopeless and I have made 0% progress in 6 months. Getting customer support from them is like blood from a stone. Re: 1gbit upload Do you have the 104 upload config? And are you RFoG?
