From what I have gleaned from your replies, I would be better off staying with what I have got unless Virgin are just about to turn it off if I don't opt for the 360. Re: Offer of 360 box I had another go at the Virgin Media log in today, the link to reset the password came up in my emails as usual and still does not work, the "prohibitted word" after the repeat of the chosen password. I also tried without any series of letters which might have made a word. Then I decided to revisit the forum and failed to get any variation of my password to work. So I went through the standard proceedure to reset the password and tried the original one which worked. Most password resets will tell you that you cannot reuse an existing password. The format of the password which works for the forum has the same sequence of "prohibitted words that the V M rejects. I don't know which box I get the TV through, other than it's 6 years old, of whether opting for a V6TiVO would cost a lot more per month. All of Virgins so called information is pure salesmanship and nothing in the way of help for customers. Re: Offer of 360 box I have looked at the many pros and cons of the "upgrade" and would probably go for it as we only have one box and only use the basic features. Recordings can often be redone as a lot of tv is repeated. The message seems to give two alternatives, a 360box plus one remote or a large software and possibly firmware upgrade to the V6 box plus a remote. I could imagine opting for the second and having no tv for weeks while Virgin sends the remote. It does seem that some of the most useful features have been messed about with for no particular reason. My road now has three fibre optic cables running along it, so there are other options open for me including going back to SKY without needing the dish. Offer of 360 box I had an email the other day offering me a 360box in place of my older one at no extra cost. I followed the link with my rmail address and couldn't remember my password, if I ever had one. The reset password would not work as I had unwittingly used a prohibited word, which seemed strange because the password chosen is identical to the one for this forum with just two letters left out. And however hard I look at the password, I cannot see anything in it that might be prohibted.
