If those matter to you, it's a no-brainer. Beyond that, there's been countless debates on this board and probably a few more yet to come. Or just get an AppleTV\Firestick etc. or use the likely built in versions on the TV. Re: Quickview I believe the playback is just 10% faster, with the big advantage over fast-forward being that it still plays the sound. Never used it that much but was definitely useful for squeezing a program into a smaller timeslot and also used to use it when watching the F1 to get through the pre-race chat and safety cars etc. more quickly but without missing out on any information\discussion. Re: 360 remote no switch app on v6 Yes, stick with the V6, it's the far better system. Though I imagine at this point the change will happen eventually, so make sure you take a note of all your series links somewhere and hang on to it for the next year or two as you will need to set them up again, but on the 360, you can only do that when they are in the TV guide (so due to be shown in the next week or two). Re: Watchlist - items missing Wouldn't it be great if there was some way to record a broadcast when it was on, so you could watch it when you wanted. Maybe one day in the future they will come up with such wondrous technology... Re: Nearly got an unwanted TV360 upgrade You do not have to upgrade, if you don't your old box will continue to work and you will not lose recordings. If you have one of the original TiVo boxes (with a curved top) then iPlayer will stop working and you will have to find a different way to watch it, most modern TVs have it built in, or you could get an external device like an Amazon Firestick to watch it. If you have one of the newer V6 TiVo boxes (flat top) then iPlayer will continue to work on that box. If you do switch to 360 then all boxes will be converted, V6 boxes just have new software installed, older TiVo boxes will be replaced by a Stream box, which does not have a hard disk. At some point, I would assume Virgin will force everyone to switch, but that isn't happening yet. Re: virgin 360 query As has been said, this is a TiVo feature, and also one where TiVo have the patent, so will never show up on the 360. Especially as VM (well Liberty Global technically) don't appear interested in adding new features to the 360. Wishlist is just one of many features you'll find missing from the 360. Re: Transfer programs There is no easy way to do this unless you have one of the original VM TiVo boxes that still have a SCART socket, you could then use that to feed into a suitable device or video recorder card attached to a PC (or possibly a DVD recorder that will record from a SCART input if you can find one). So obviously the output would be converted to low-def anologue and then re-digitized, so the quality would not be fantastic. Might be possible with a V6 with an appropriate HDMI to SCART (or other analogue connection) convertor of some sort and then doing the same thing (maybe would also required HDCP removal device to get rid of any copy protection, but not sure if that is used on recorded programs on the V6) . Basically though, you're going to need some additional hardware. Re: Saving Series +Link list As has been said, the best option is to take a photo. However, unlike the V6 the 360 only allows you to set up Series Links for programs that are currently in the TV Guide (so on in the next two-ish weeks), so you will need to hang on to the photos and watch out for any new series of programs you want to series link. Re: Are there any benefits going from Tivo to TV 360? I don't think VM are supplying V6 boxes anymore, other than for fault replacements. Even getting a 360 seems like an effort these days as VM are really pushing the streaming. I guess because it's cheaper for them and blocks ad-skipping. Re: Are there any benefits going from Tivo to TV 360? The 360 has a few extra apps and voice control (if you can be bothered to use it and don't use a universal remote), but is missing a lot of features compared to the V6\TiVo. Some of the missing features are as follows; Quickplay (play 10% faster with audio), Wishlists (where you can set the box to record programs on certain subjects or featuring certain people), undelete, series link+, suggestions, setting of series links for programs not in the current TV guide, ethernet control, keyboard support via USB, turning off the mini-preview screen while browsing menus, switching between tuners with constant buffering, skip-back on fast-forward, default recording options, cancelling individual recordings from a series link, multi-channel series links, radio channels allowing recording of radio, separation of recordings between boxes, watching recordings when internet is not available and probably a few others I've forgotten. Also, extra boxes do not have their own hard disks or tuners (unless converted from a V6 box), so you lose storage space and recording ability and are also reliant on the main box being on to watch and set recordings and also on having a decent wi-fi signal (or ethernet cable) between the two boxes when watching recordings. If the boxes are used by independent family members i.e. older children living at home, then there is also the issue of recordings being pooled across all boxes, so everyone's recordings are mixed up, rather than being separated. This also means that if there is a show that both people watch and one person watches and deletes it then it is gone for the other person as well, and can't be recovered due to the lack of undelete.
