Do you have any examples of specifically where it doesn't work? Re: V6 versus 360 Some of the missing features are as follows; Quickplay (play 10% faster with audio), Wishlists (where you can set the box to record programs on certain subjects or featuring certain people), undelete, series link+, suggestions, setting of series links for programs not in the current TV guide, ethernet control, keyboard support via USB, turning off the mini-preview screen while browsing menus, switching between tuners with constant buffering, skip-back on fast-forward, default recording options, cancelling individual recordings from a series link, multi-channel series links, radio channels allowing recording of radio, separation of recordings between boxes, watching recordings when internet is not available and probably a few others I've forgotten. Also, extra boxes do not have their own hard disks or tuners (unless converted from a V6 box), so you lose storage space and recording ability and are also reliant on the main box being on to watch and set recordings and also on having a decent wi-fi signal (or ethernet cable) between the two boxes when watching recordings. If the boxes are used by independent family members i.e. older children living at home, then there is also the issue of recordings being pooled across all boxes, so everyone's recordings are mixed up, rather than being separated. This also means that if there is a show that both people watch and one person watches and deletes it then it is gone for the other person as well, and can't be recovered due to the lack of undelete. Re: Netflix I believe all standard VM contracts now include Netflix with ads, rather than ad free, unless you pay the extra, presumably your contract changed when you upgraded the speed. VM customer service agents don't seem to consider this a change in your package, much like losing TNT sports or having features removed from the set top box when you switch from V6\TiVo to 360\Stream. I'd suggest getting a separate sub to Netflix, then you can easily cancel and just get a months access now and again if there's anything in particular you want to watch. Re: TV Very Quiet That sounds to me like an agent who's been told to push people to switch to 360\Stream, as I assume that's what you're being switched to rather than a V6? Can't see it making any difference to the volume other than by chance of a different setting being the default. VM definitely have a push to get people off of the superior V6\TiVo system on 360 and then Stream as it's cheaper for them. I would have suggested checking the audio settings and trying switching some of them to see if that helped, I believe the culprit can often be having Dolby Digital set, rather than PCM if you have an older system. Also, probably worth checking a different source, DVD player or in-built TV apps (if you have them) to confirm whether it is the TV or the TiVo. Re: Replace a Tivo for 360 Box I don't believe you can record TV with the 360 when the internet is down, and you can't watch recorded programs on it without the internet. I would assume watching live TV would work, though can't actually confirm that (though I would have assumed you could have watched recordings, so who knows...). If you have a V6 TiVo I'd personally stick with it, if you have one of the original curved top TiVos it might be worth seeing if you could get it switched to a V6. Definitely don't get fobbed off with a Stream box though, that doesn't record at all, and needs an internet connection for everything including live TV. Re: Controlling program Autodelete Generally it should be oldest first. It can be a bit over enthusiastic about displaying the message though (it bases it on all the upcoming recordings and an assumption that nothing will be deleted manually in the meantime, and even then seems a bit pessimistic about how much space will be required), it will only start deleting stuff if the box totally runs out of space for the new recordings, so as long as you're keeping on top of it then it should be OK. There is obviously also the "Keep until I delete" option if there is anything older that you absolutely want to keep. Re: TV360 box upgrade Except when it deletes all your recordings and planned recordings of course. Re: TV360 box upgrade I would assume it just means updates to the app itself, but if it's working fine then that's not really an issue. I'm sure there will come a time when the guide updates stop completely but I doubt that will be until the V6 box itself is phased out and people are forced to switch to 360\stream. Re: Some clarity around Stream lack of recording funtionality please. Don't you have to sit through forced ads on most of those? And only have limited time to watch the programs before they get removed? Re: TV360 box upgrade Possibly the message about recycling is relevant for people who are still using the old TiVo box, which does get replaced, but maybe not if you have a V6. The other option is that they will send you stream boxes to replace the V6s, but I'm pretty sure they haven't started doing that yet due to the sort of outcry it would likely cause! As has been said, unless you absolutely need to change to the 360 box for some reason (unlikely, as it offers very little over the V6) then you're better off staying with the more functional and reliable V6 for as long as you can.
