You’re failing to update me on any progress. Are you going to provide an update or am I going to have to make a complaint to OFCOM again for your failure to maintain basic services and keep customers informed of reported faults? Re: Superhub 5 & 5x Discussion It will be interesting to see what happens in my local are (30 former NTL area) I’m on a Hub5 now that I have to have in modem mode because it doesn’t like having lots of devices so if you have more than a couple of IOT devices don’t say you weren’t warned. Changing DNS from VMs dns seems to have helped. City fibre have put poles up in the streets and are almost ready to go public with VMs duct cables nearing the end of their life span it be interesting to see if they speed up the 5x and if they will use their own ducting or swap over to the fibre poles. Re: CV21 changes call blocking For example if we’re out and my parents call my landline the VM landline diverts it OnSIM that then diverts the call to my mobile as it’s likely they want to speak with me, of my wife’s parents call it’s transferred to my wife’s mobile phone. I can do this with any number to anyone in the tree. At no additional cost to me or the caller, and the caller has nothing to worry about than calling a local phone number without the area code. I’ve only just started to touch what’s possible with this but I can clearly see the benefits already. I was very concerned about the spoofing aspect but the company (OnSiM) seem very professional requiring paperwork showing I have right to use the number and the cistern’s service so far has been excellent thankfully I’m very technical and have assisted with issues from iCloud voicemail problems to this one with VM call routing. Re: CV21 changes call blocking Since upgrading my landline to digital I have had no end of problems, I had the landline number for many years and it’s linked to many things including important medical things. I was considering moving away from VM and saw OnSIM were did virtual land lines moving your landline number to a mobile so I started this process. VM fixed the issues with the landline but I found that being able to divert the home phone to the second mobile eSIM and call out from that sim with the landline number actually has many benefits and it’s worked very well until this recent change in VM network hardware which has a very unexpected effect of me not being able to call home. One bonus is I can now set the landline to call me, email voice messages and or pass the call down a chain to say my wife, children if I don’t answer. If none of us answer any of us can call back (if I have it active) with my landline caller ID. So basically so have a landline at home when I want it or a virtual landline tree when I want it. It’s actually great for elderly and vulnerable relatives as the only every have to dial my local landline number 6 digits and it will always get through and in reverse if I call them from home or mobile it always comes up as that number. VMO2 really need to understand the benefits of this tech as all their customer would love it. Imagine all your family having their own Independant mobile numbers but also having the home landline on their mobiles (controlled by the master account) one of my biggest problems was the digital landline not working anywhere in my house now it works anywhere in the world on any device (with mobile data or WiFi). Re: CV21 changes call blocking Just wanted to update after speaking with a VM Network Tech today. This seems to have happened since a recent forced change of hardware. VM have had to remove Huawei from core infrastructure and as the network tech said the new system is not as easy to navigate/ understand as the Huawei on it may take some to work out what’s going on. He thinks the call is getting as far as my Hub5 I personally don’t think it is but we will see. Interestingly the local councils phone network seems to have been brought down by the same or same source issue which also happened when a previous complex issue I had occurred. I know it wouldn’t happen to most people and this would never of happened if I didn’t have to secure my landline because of previous issues with it, but the way I look at it is this at least I’m finding these bugs pretty quick and raising them before the cause major problems. also just to be clear this isn’t a call divert issue and some line one VM CAs seem to think it is. Weirdly call divert works perfectly and isn’t affected by the hardware changes. Re: CV21 changes call blocking @client62 Yes I’m aware of spoofing but it’s not spoofing as ist legitimate use of my own number with appropriate paperwork in place it did work fine until apparent recent changes at VM. My thought are it’s being picked up as spoof then not being fully approved anymore at it works up to VM and call divert but not at the end point of my home. Call go through to all numbers including my home phone diversion line but my home property now when divert is inactive. So I can call everyone but my own home number. I can understand a total block of it was spoofing. But it’s neither spoofing nor a total block. Re: CV21 changes call blocking Yeah only the one number (caller id as its own number) Re: CV21 changes call blocking Additionally if call forwarding is set up on the VM landline the incoming OnSIM (with landline caller ID) is correctly forwarded so it very very specific not ringing within the home I’ve checked to make sure no call blocking on home phones is active and have removed all phones and used a simple phone so it’s definitely problem with the line / server side of things. CV21 changes call blocking I have a OnSIM eSIM that when call out sends my Caller ID as my Virgin Landline number. OnSIM have just added SIP to there services and I now have a very unique but very weird problem. When I Call my VM landline from The OnSIM eSIM or SiP service I get no Ringing on the Landline (ring sounds on calling phone). When I dial 1471 it says I’ve been called but if I pick up the landline during a call I get a dial tone and can make calls. So the call is being intercepted somewhere in the VM network and not being passed through. It previously worked fine. Can I get this new fault escalated to the advanced team please as obviously it’s fairly important to call my own landline from my mobile and have it answered. To confirm it’s a very specific problem when calling my landline with is own number showing as Caller ID from mobile / SiP it no longer connects. Dialing 1471 shows a call received and the landline has a dial tone during call attempts. So seems like there’s some form off new blocking system Digital Landline [ 21CV ] Call Divert (Call Forwarding) [Purple-Zone] Virgin Media- Digital Landline [ 21CV ] Call Divert ( aka Call Forwarding ) [Purple-Zone] Hopefully this will help those wanting to use the £2.25 call divert feature (can be part of a feature bundle) I’m adding this as information so far is confusing at best unhelpful in most cases please feel free to add or correct me as required. To Divert All Calls Dial*21*<number_IncSTD># Cancel Divert Dial#21# Check Divert details Dial*#21# Examples To Divert all calls to a UK Mobile Number dial: *21*07777123456# 07777 being the STD Code 123456 being the phone number To a UK landline dial: *21*01522123456# 01522 here is the Lincoln STD code Basically STD codes were/are required if someone outside of Lincoln (eg London) would need to dial it, however someone inside Lincoln wouldn’t need to they would just dial 123456 to be put through Things to note! Call divert won’t work with free voicemail active! do not put 44 in place of 0 as it will make the divert fail and you must use the STD code. example used in this post is 01522123456 will connect 441522123456 won’t 07777123456 will 447777123456 won’t work! People calling from a landline without using the STD code won’t get put through a major flaw IMHO. Eg if a local landline (in the same STD code) phone just dials just the last bit eg 123456 the call will not get through, however if they dial the full number including the STD eg 01522123456 they will. This will cause confusion for so many who mainly call local to local calls as it will fail without the caller knowing why! VM Everyday Call Charges booklet states you will be charged for the diverted part of the call so if you diverted to a local call you will pay a local call rate, if you divert to a national your charged national, premium charged premium and mobile charged mobile etc. The caller will still be charged the normal amount for their call no matter what according to their call charges / package!I have been told many times that if you have a free call charge package you will not be charged for the forward yet many on here say you will SO BE WARNED as you won’t know for a month if calls forwarded to a UK landline or UK Mobile will be charged to you for each call forwarded even if included in your call package. Note itemised billing is chargeable (bloody cheek IMHO!) So charging is questionable at best I hope to update soon. if your calling some mobile new lines make sure VoTLE is turned on in the mobiles data settings or incoming calls and call diverts won’t work. So in summary you may or may not be charged for each forwarded call, people calling you without using the STD code (local calls) won’t get through and they will have no idea why!
