When I tested it though the download speed on samknows/realspeed was well in excess of 500mb whilst Ookla was showing less than half of that. As I said earlier in test mode I only had 1 laptop connected with a Cat5e cable and nothing else wired or wireless Difference between Ookla and Samknows/realspeed speed tests I recently upgraded to an M500 package from M250 and using Ookla speed tests have seen no improvement. After a couple of days I called VM tech support and they suggested using samknows/realspeed to check and it did indeed show download speeds in excess of 500mb whilst repeated tests with Ookla still show no more than 280mb. All tests were performed on a modern laptop connected with a Cat5 ethernet cable direct to a Hub3 router with nothing else connected ( both wired and wireless ) I realise these samknows tests are designed to work with specific routers with some sort of embedded software and actually show the speed at the router as opposed to what the browser is showing but why the massive difference ? Surely the Ookla tests should show a bigger improvement ? Any help would be appreciated
