VM doesn't care about it's customers, or it would have patched Hub 3's. It only requires something removing that VM have added to a standard router. What this has done is made me finally decide that when my current contract is up I'm moving my broadband from VM to City Fibre, where I can select who I have as my provider. Gigabit broadband beginning at just over £30, and that's both upload and download. Whichever provider I choose they all come with standard routers that haven't been botched. Alan_H Re: Unable to disable SSID Broadcasting on Hub 3 Hello Gareth_L As the person who first started this thread, I'm afraid your advice doesn't work. I've just tried it on my Hub 3 and it doesn't work, as it didn't work previously when this was given to me as a solution. This is one of the many things VM have suggested to me will work but it doesn't. Alan_H Re: Unable to disable SSID Broadcasting on Hub 3Apologies for not responding earlier, but I've been in hospital for 2 weeks. I've tried all the suggestions made to me and to others with the same problem, and nothing has fixed the problem.Re: Unable to disable SSID Broadcasting on Hub 3 Hi JCXP, I Hope you have better look than I have. I've had 2 members of the Forum Team try, and neither has succeeded. Re: Unable to disable SSID Broadcasting on Hub 3 Didn't work. You've only sent me to a video that shows me how to do something that other people have described previously. And I'd already tried it myself before I originally posted here. When I go to Advanced Settings -> Wireless Settings the option for WiFi Network Name (SSID) broadcast is disabled, as per the image I showed in a previous post. Al Re: Unable to disable SSID Broadcasting on Hub 3 Hi Kath_F, This is what I've already tried, and the option is greyed out, as per the below. Alan Re: Unable to disable SSID Broadcasting on Hub 3 Thanks. 1. Is that not the "Disable Channel Optimisation" suggested by newappollo? That didn't work unfortunately, the boxes were still greyed out. Any further suggestions you have will be much appreciated. 2. It's something I've always done, since the very first router I ever had. I know it won't/can't stop a determined person from finding it, but it does mean that those who live around me don't know how many different networks, and their names, I have in my house. Where possible I prefer wired connections rather than wifi, so I have personal routers in the 3 rooms I use most (living room, kitchen and bedroom) that I can wire devices into. Only my phone uses wifi. Re: Unable to disable SSID Broadcasting on Hub 3 Thanks but it doesn't help, the option is still greyed out. Unable to disable SSID Broadcasting on Hub 3 I've just had a Hub 3 installed, replacing a Super Hub 2ac, to allow connection of my home phone service to the fibre network. I've been setting things up and find I'm unable to disable SSID Broadcasting the option is greyed out in Hub3 Setting Advanced Settings -> Wireless -> Security. Is there something I can change so that I can alter the setting please?
