So much so, I created a post on here to look for help as Activision claimed it was a Virgin Media issue after sending them my dxdiag file. Then randomly it started working again the day after. Super smooth, max settings etc so I assumed it had fixed itself. Then I had a new problem at the weekend where the games launcher wouldn't even boot up or kept quitting back to desktop after starting. After lots of searching and messing around I checked Virgin's server status page and there was a notice saying there was an outage in my area affecting CoD and Destiny players. Wish I'd have known this before refreshing my Windows 11 installation. Roll eyes* A couple of hours later all seemed to be normal again for the rest of the night but all day today, the launcher keeps quitting back to desktop after launch. No notice on Virgin's server status page this time, though. What's the point of even having the app or even following them on Twitter if they're not even going to bother sending you notifications or texts etc on national or local outages? Anyway, looks like it's back to single player games for the evening... Re: Severity of the Call of Duty Packet Bursts Have Made the Game Unplayable. Apologies. I thought I'd replied to this. I've no idea what could be uploading or syncing unless it's OneDrive. A lot of game data is stored and accessed there. Other than that, there shouldn't be anything else. But like I said, the issue, appears to have righted itself anyway. I suspect it was an Activision server issue and they were just being lazy and trying to pass the blame on to Virgin. Thanks for your insight though. Re: Severity of the Call of Duty Packet Bursts Have Made the Game Unplayable. Well I was on MW2 last night and this morning and it largely appears to have fixed itself for some reason. There's still some heavy packet bursts at the start of the match for about 30 secs though. I still don't know what all this information tell you though. Re: Severity of the Call of Duty Packet Bursts Have Made the Game Unplayable. So do another screenshot of the bottom graph in 24hrs and post it here? Re: Severity of the Call of Duty Packet Bursts Have Made the Game Unplayable. I've been playing for the last hour and have no idea what those graphs mean. Re: Severity of the Call of Duty Packet Bursts Have Made the Game Unplayable. Sorry my bad. PC, Modern Warfare 2, Via Steam, both WIFI and wired (bought a cable to see if it would help), I'll post the details shortly. Severity of the Call of Duty Packet Bursts Have Made the Game Unplayable. This started happening about 2 months ago. Now it's pretty much near constant whenever I start a multilayer game. I contacted Activision who wanted a copy of my computer logs and they're adamant that it's a problem with my ISP. I've run various online tests and they all say my connection is fine, however.
