For normal use, it's the response time of websites that matters, not the connection speed. However, it took over a month to get my line installed, and in the meantime, Virgin had asked for a disconnection date, which I had to postpone indefinitely. As it turned out, if I hadn't postponed it at least a week prior to the agreed date, I would have been without an internet connection until my new line was installed. I don't know why VM have to be so trigger happy. My advice is to make sure they leave you connected until you're switched over and are happy with the new line / ISP, if you decide to do that. The extra cost of having two working at once, temporarily, was irrelevant compared to the hassle that would have been caused. Re: Can't login to My Virgin Media to see bill - Error Code: FSB50 @Arissa_H I've just tried it in a private window, and the same thing happened again. I don't use VPNs. FWIW, I use Firefox ESR, and I keep it updated. Is it possible for someone to just email me my bill, as a PDF? Re: Can't login to My Virgin Media to see bill - Error Code: FSB50 @Reece_MH, the exact same thing happens if I try to log in directly from virginmedia.com - I'm asked for my email address, I press the submit button and it gives that exact same error message. This is clearly something Virgin Media need to fix. It is a problem with your website. As I said, I'm no longer logging in from a VM internet connection because I've left, and am trying to get what I hope is my final bill. Can't login to My Virgin Media to see bill - Error Code: FSB50 I had an email about my new, possibly final, bill. i tried to log in to My Virgin Media to download it but I just keep getting an error message: "Login Failed Error Code: FSB50 Your login request was unsuccessful. Please try again." I never get to type in my password. The sign in page only asks for my email address but after pressing the submit button, I get this error every time. I am not using a Virgin internet connection to login, because I no longer have one. I used the My Virgin Media link in the banner of this community site, to try to log in. Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 Since the maintenance, yesterday, I have been unable to send emails from my ntlworld email account, using Outlook Express, which worked fine before. I get an error message with this code: 0x800CCC0F "Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: '[REDACTED]', Server: 'smtp.ntlworld.com', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F" But I do get it very quickly 🙂 I wondered if it's another thing Virgin Media decided to disable for me, well in advance of my pending disconnection from VM. Perhaps they're just doing the same thing to a lot of other people, as a result of botching the "maintenance". Re: Loss of Email - F010762348 FWIW, mine was off for most of the day, and possibly part of yesterday. It's now back on, on the accounts I normally check, which all use POP access from pop.ntlworld.com. I didn't do anything to make it work again, so I'd suggest just waiting and not trying to reset passwords - which can cause a separate problem, apparently. In the past, I've also had some ntlworld email addresses working but not others. I guess there's more than one server. I've also had long delays in delivering emails to me, after an outage - even up to a week after they were sent. That was long enough ago to maybe not be relevant to how things work now though. I subscribed to this thread earlier and the first emails I've received since have all been notifications about it. It seems plausible that older ones may arrive later because the mail servers that have been trying to send them to the VM one may leave it for a while before trying again.
