After a lengthy and frustrating attempt to renew my shortly expiring contract and just get the services I actually use, unsuccessful as ended up paying more with unwanted service still included, (only after being quoted a ridiculous price just to keep my broadband connection) and access the various tv services as and when required, I find I still have a landline, which has not worked for several months so I wanted to remove it.Having never been offered the new digital service I eventually got a reply after 35 minutes from an "agent" based on Pacific Island who has promised to organise this, but will have to avoid making long calls or being "on hold" due to the frightful cost, when one call costs more that a month of unlimited calls. texts and adequate data on a mobile phone. Repeated landline faults that sometimes correct. With anytime calls I expected to use the landline more than before, but a series of intermittent faults, recently the phone does not ring, but can record voicemails, so usefully ignores the timewasters but anything important I know about. Now no dial tone , and attempts to call are cut off immediately. Tried to find out if the digital switchover is close but a 98 minute wait via the BOT, and we know how long it takes to get through on the phone only to need a "memorable word" set up 24 years ago and never used since, Have several months left before i can end most of my services with Virgin and just keep the broadband at most if the cost is competitive wirh all the others now fibre line in this street.
