If I select in Devices/Network in the VM Connect iOS app, (version 12.42.14) on my iPhone 15 Pro Max (iOS 17.4.1) and touch the arrow where it states "Placed in Lounge Pod (2) (2)" and then attempt to assign to a room, I press "Continue" but it will not allow me to rename the location. I tried this previously and this has resulted in the same (basically correct) Lounge location being picked up but it only adds yet another number in brackets following it. I simply want it to read "Lounge". If I try picking up a different room in order to then return to Lounge, it picks up "Living Room (2)" but does then offer me the opportunity to edit the name. So, I then make it read simply "Lounge" but now it tells me "A room with this name already exists"!!! I know it exists and I want to allocate the WiFi Pod to it as it should have been and did originally. When I view this information on my Windows 11 desktop login, everything looks normal and correctly named; it is only the Connect app that is, as ever complicating the issue and showing an incorrect location name. If any clever person out there is following this and/or knows the frustration that is the VM Connect app, please could they kindly advise me on how to rectify this issue? I can of course live with it as it is but it is just plain annoying! Many thanks in advance. Re: Why two TV boxes showing in VM Connect app? No known fix as yet I'm afraid despite the most recent Connect app update. Very frustrating! Re: Why two TV boxes showing in VM Connect app? Hi Sabrina Thank you for coming back to me. I would be interested to know how to remove that old device record from the Connect app if you know as I haven’t yet found a way of doing that. Uninstalling the app does not fix it. Re: Why two TV boxes showing in VM Connect app? Hi Forum Team I wonder if I may come back with an update on the "two TV Boxes displayed on the Connect app issue" as I originally started this particular thread back on 27th June 2023. Today, I still see one "TV box (Lounge)" which is our one and only TV 360 box plus a second device showing "TV box (Living Room)" which it has invented. The genuine one is "Connected to Ethernet" which is correct when powered on and the 'ghost' one is "Not connected". As demonstrated by the time that has lapsed since June 2023, this bug has clearly not been tidied up and I have no way of manually deleting the rogue one. It is purely a visual annoyance so not critical but I am still surprised that no-one at VM has remedied this bug in all this time. I am currently using app version 12.40.13 in iOS 17.3.1 and deleting the app on my iPhone 15 Pro Max and re-downloading does not fix it. I am not expecting a solution; this is just for information. Re: My Virgin Media iOS app not working Hi Kath, as of this Thursday (22nd) morning, the app does appear to be working normally thank you. Re: My Virgin Media iOS app not working Hi Zoie, I did actually mention in my previous post that I was using an iPad and iPhone. Alan Re: My Virgin Media iOS app not working Hi Zoie and thank you for your reply. Prior to my post this morning, I had the same response on my iPad, but having just tried again on my iPhone, the app now appears to be working again so we’ll see how that goes. The issue certainly was not due to my broadband/wifi connection and other apps were working normally. I will naturally report back should I notice that this issue occurs again in the future. Thank you for being there. My Virgin Media iOS app not working At 08:15 on 20th February 2024, My Virgin Media app (version 24.1.0) opens with “Oops! Sorry, something’s gone wrong.” I have deleted the app from my iPhone and re-downloaded it but upon signing in, there is no change. I am hoping that Virgin Media tech are aware of this. Re: Why two TV boxes showing in VM Connect app? Hi Matt, thanks for getting back to me. However, I don’t fully understand your reply. My software is always kept up to date if that is what you mean, so there is nothing I can do further to help correct this issue from this end. As I said, until recently, both WiFi Pods showed as having a “Great” connection whereas now they both show “Fair” and I have even seen “Poor” on one of them at one time before reverting back to “Fair” which is a complete mystery as they are both performing correctly. I am just hoping that someone at VM is aware of this bug and will issue an app update before too long to correct it. Re: Why two TV boxes showing in VM Connect app? I just wanted to report a change of reporting within the Connect app, perhaps due to a recent app update, I don’t know, which has in effect, tidied up the issue that was covered by this thread. Currently, when I view “My Network” diagram, where previously the TV 360 box would be displayed incorrectly twice, it now doesn’t show at all on that screen. I only see the Hub 5 and two WiFi Pods. Instead, the TV 360 box is now included under my connected devices list, under the “WiFi Pod - Lounge” category which is correct as it is connected via Ethernet. It shows a “Great” connection as does my iPhone which is also connected to the same WiFi Pod but via WiFi. So, although the “Two TV boxes showing” issue appears to be resolved, I still have the remaining issue that both my WiFi Pods show as having a “Fair” connection which I know to be inaccurate as every device connected to those Pods has a “Great” connection which is also borne out in signal strength and speed tests. Despite several Hub 5 and WiFi Pod reboots and even a Hub reset, I can no longer see a “Great” connection status for the Pods despite that being so until recently, for reasons unknown. I will simply disregard that false information as I am well aware that the Connect app is unfortunately far from perfect.
