V6 sound issues

Hi, I'm having the same problem with my V6 box, it's fine if I select "Dolby to PCM" buy if I chose Dolby Digital I get the sound cutting out for 1 or 2 seconds every 20 to 30 mins.

I started to get the problem a few months ago, I assumed the box was starting to fail so ignored it until the box did eventually fail a few weeks ago, an engineer subsequently came out and installed a new v6 box, but unfortunately the sound problem is still there, can't say I've noticed the problem with streaming or recorded programmes, but don't really record very much

Any help gratefully received

Hello steve_mac.

Thanks for your first post and welcome to our community.

We're sorry to hear about the sound cutting out every 30 minutes.

You did mention the V6 box being replaced, so we can rule that out as a cause.

Do you have another HDMI cable you test?

Or another HDMI port on the TV to test over the next few days?

If you have any 3rd party equipment like a sound bar, it might be best to remove that as well.

It is a fault as I and other in here have reported the same and tried all the suggestions you have made.

Happens with live tv and recordings.

Hi BinghamBloke, I tried to reply to the other thread, but somehow started a new, one.

Thanks for your reply Gareth_L I've changed the HDMI lead, I am connected to my Sony amp using earc, not having any problems with the audio on my PS5 so dont think it can be that, I have however tried bypassing the amp and going direct to tv and still getting the audio cutting out, I'll let you know how the change of HDMI lead goes.

regards

Steve

Hi Gareth_L

Well I've tried a couple of different HDMI leads and different ports but still getting the sound cutting out,  it does seem as though it may be a connection problem though, by connecting directly to my amp instead of connecting to the TV and using earc to the amp the sound is not cutting out, unfortunately for me though my amp Sony str-dn1040 is only able to pass though hdcp 2.1 and not the V6's 2.2 (think this is correct) so connecting this way means I'm only getting 1080p rather than 4k. The tv is doing a pretty good job of upscaling to 4k so I will live with it for the time being until I can afford to upgrade the amp.
