After lots weeks of being unable to get ON DEMAND, engineer came, didn’t know why, changed a cable to wi-fi. My ITV Hub changed to ITV X. On trying to watching a program on ITV X seems when I try to fast forward or rewind Not applicable comes up! Tried to get help by phone, no help! Was sent a new remote! Still not working, getting really fed up with VIRGIN and it’s poor customer service! and problems with their service!

Firstly I've not believed it was anything to do with signing in when I can access and play programs, that would be a really strange way of writing an app. Yes, there is another option off-screen in Settings - Sign Out and if I click that then as soon as I try to play a program it tells me to sign in, which is exactly what I'd expect.
The following relates to my box:
1. When FFing through introductory ads only X2 is available.
2. Play freezes the screen while FFing through the introductory ads, only left, right, pause and stop do anything.
3. It will not start playing the program proper unless and until I have let it go all the way through the introductory ads at X2, sitting there watching a frozen frame and progress bar, which is almost irritating as having to sit through the ads. There are multiple ads with the progress bar starting from the left each time.
4. After several bouts of that and having to find a different episode each time (once I have got into the program proper it resumes from where I left off) the introductory ads stopped (until this morning) so I was not able to learn any more about that part of the issue. I've not looked for a 'from beginning' option yet.
5. Speeds up to X120 are only available in the program proper, with no clue as to where I am apart from the progress bar until I press Play.
6. When I get to an ad break part-way through a program X2 and X6 FF options are available but that's all. There can be several ads, the progress bar starting from the left each time.
7. When it gets to the end of those ads, unlike after the introductory ads, it carries on FFing through the program! One has to watch for a change in the progress bar from moving across the screen to being full-width with breaks every fifteen minutes which shows the program has restarted, and press Play.
Does anyone actually use ITVX to FF through ads? It's almost useless and I'm beginning to have my doubts given the incorrect, incomplete and misleading information offered. For me the primary reason for getting this box was for recording six channels, if it had been for ITVX it would be going back and as I say this is my box.

Sorry to hear of the issues regarding ITVX via your set top box. We understand the frustration this is causing.
Is this just happening with ITVX or are other aps impacted by these issues also?

Glad to see it's only on ITVX and all other Apps work ok, the FFW problem on ITVX will need raised with our second line teams so to investigate the issue and fix it.

Virgin tried a reload no change. Engineer visited, did the same, no change. He's agreed I'm getting what I say I'm getting but can't help, saying all I can hope is that there is a new release of the app that does something different. He'd never come across it before, and neither had anyone on their closed engineers group. Like I said, I suspect I'm the only one trying to use it!
It's worse than letting the ads play through, at least then you can do something else such as Sudoku or pick up a book keeping half an ear open for when the program restarts. With ads on slow FF you have to keep looking at a frozen screen watching the ad progress bars one after the other, waiting for the program progress bar to appear and press Play, otherwise it **bleep** through that as well.
Incidentally the All4 catchup app doesn't FF at all.

I am sorry to hear that you are having issues with the app and is this the latest update?
Do you get the same issue on multiple boxes?
The fast forward function is not available on our stream boxes.

1. I have been posting about this problem for over a month.
2. How would I know if I have the latest update or not?
3. How would I know what is happening on other boxes, how many people have more than one?
4. This is a V6 thread and as I've posted before I have the Maxit package which should allow it.
5. That link is largely for the ITV Hub not the app, and the bits that are about ITVX don't apply to me as explained in previous posts.
Does ANYBODY use FF on ITVX? I've not seen anyone admit to it yet.

Yes, we have two V6 boxes in the house and fast forward works on both on ITVX

Yes also FF in ITVX, on V6 box with Maxit TV, and have identical issues.
