Upgrade to TV360 to get Sky Sports+ at no extra cost

I have also received the email from VM (dated 22 July 24) saying I need to upgrade to TV360 to get Sky Sports+ at no extra cost but, just like a recent poster, I also don’t have the upgrade option on my V6 box.

BlueLou (Virgin Media Staff) said, 3 weeks ago, that the customers without the upgrade app had been identified and the app would be added to their box ‘in the next 48 hours’ but it is still not on MY V6 box and it is now 27 July 24!

Despite speaking on the phone to 3 different Virgin Media Help? staff, who didn’t know about these emails and told me I would need to recontract (which is not going to happen!), I am still unable to upgrade.

So, what do I do now?

Hi Susie, I'm really sorry you're having this experience. We've tried our best to get as many of our customers migrated over to 360 so they can access Sky Sports+ - truthfully I'm not sure why the upgrade app isn't showing on your box.

I'm picking up with the forum team to get your customer details and will try to manually upgrade you asap. Will be in touch later today.

Thanks,

Lewis

Hi @susieb1958,

I hope you're doing well. I'm checking in to see if you received the last response here by one of my colleagues, and if you're still looking for some help regarding upgrading the TV box?

Thanks,

Hi Zach_R,

Yes, thanks, I have received the response from your colleague (elmo360 - Virgin Media Staff) yesterday and I’m really hoping to hear back from him sometime today - see his last post to me above.

Hopefully, he will be able to resolve this issue asap and, in the meantime, I’m pleased to see it’s been confirmed that the upgrade from V6 to TV360 does NOT require a package change.

Thanks,

susieb

Will let you know what happens next and if I still need help!

Hi @susieb1958,

Thanks for getting back to me on this. I'm going to send you a private message in a few moments. If you do need further assistance with this then please respond to it when you can and we'll go from there.

Thanks,

And for balance, this is some of what you lose by changing:

Wishlists (where you can set the box to record programs on certain subjects or featuring certain people), undelete, series link+, series link manager, suggestions, setting of series links for programs not in the current TV guide, ethernet control, keyboard support via USB, switching between tuners with constant buffering, skip-back on fast-forward, quickplay, default recording options, cancelling individual recordings from a series link, multi-channel series links, radio channels allowing recording of radio, separation of recordings between boxes, watching recordings when internet is not available and probably a few others I've forgotten.

Also, extra boxes do not have their own hard disks or tuners (unless converted from a V6 box), so you lose storage space and recording ability and are also reliant on the main box being on to watch and set recordings and also on having a decent wi-fi signal (or ethernet cable) between the two boxes when watching recordings.

Thanks. There was an option on my home screen to update my system to 360 but it’s not there now - I was also invited via email to do so. How do I update now please?

Hi Ryan, we checked your two boxes and they should be in the correct group, so I'm surprised the option isn't on the home screen anymore. I'm currently investigating this with the team.

In the meantime you should be able to see the "Upgrade Now" app in the Apps and Games section.

I was told tonight that I had to change my package as my current package (Maxit TV) is no longer available - so its an extra £21 a month!  Is that right?  Also person said they are sending me two remotes but my other box is a Tivo which I understood wouldn't work - I questioned this but she said that I could just ask the engineer that is coming the day before my upgrade comes to fix the landline that has been out of action for over a week.  I'm feel like I am being taken for a ride here.

Your TiVo box will need to be replaced by a 360 mini box because it's not able to run the 360 software.

If you are still mid contact you should be able to migrate to 360 for free if you have received an offer to do so.

that is not true, you can upgrade withou changing your package.  Apologies that you have not had the correct information.
