Intermittent Sound on BBC1

Hi, I have a TV 360 box connected to a new LG G4 tv via hdmi cable, also an LG USC9S soundbar connected to tv via eARC hdmi. The sound on BBC1 hd drops out for a second every few minutes, which is quite annoying. I have tried different hdmi cables but no different.

When I watch BBC1 through BBC iplayer this problem is resolved. Can you please advise. Thanks

Please can you try this without the sound bar and just the standard HDMI cable and let us know if this still happens?

Thanks for the reply, tried tv speaker only, seems ok. This problem is totally intermittent as yesterday no problem through soundbar. Judging by other forum members responses this is a VM problem, everyone can’t be having a problem with soundbars, hdmi cables etc…..I don’t think a brand new LG soundbar designed for use with my LG TV can be the problem as it doesn’t happen on other channels, Netflix or Prime Video.

Sorry to hear about the issues with the soundbar issues, I can imagine this to be very annoying especially as it intermittent and you don't know when it's going to happen next.

As your connected by HDMI can you please take a look at a CEC less adapter. It's a 3rd party device that plugs into the TVs HDMI port, then the HDMI cable goes into the back of that.

We've had a few post similiar to yours and this has resolved the issue.

Hi Gareth, Thanks for the reply, if I get the CEC less adapter does this stop the sound bar and TV being controlled from the VM 360 remote?

Try connecting the 360 to the USC9S's HDMI in and leave the existing HDMI cable in place between USC9S and TV. This is the optimal way to get audio, and video should be passed through to the TV.

Gave your suggestion a try, no luck, didn’t have a picture by connecting the 360 to USC9S hdmi in. Thanks anyway.

 

 

It should have worked. Do you have the HDMI cable connect the HDMI OUT (ARC/eARC) port of the soundbar to an HDMI ARC/eARC port on your TV, and does the LG need to be configured for HDMI pass-through.

Hi, I have unplugged the TV, soundbar, TV 360, from mains, disconnected all cables. I then waited 5 minutes and reconnected everything and rebooted TV360. Don’t have sound problem now. Is this a coincidence or have VM sorted the problem?
