for the last 3 nights in a row i have had to restart my TIVO when watching narrow escapes via the channel 4 app on my TIVO. (if only i had remembered to set a series link)!
i get 20 to 30 minutes in then it freezes. after fiddling about with the remote control buttons i eventually get error code C133 and/or N17 if i "check the connection" but doing all this faffing about just delays the cure which is to restart the TIVO box. this only happens with this particular app and program (no i havent bothered trying to watch anything else on this app. it does NOT happen when i watch the responder blue lights on the bbc i player app.
is it because of the time of day that i try to watch it (2359 to 0300)? ironically i find it difficult to sleep and this particular programme chills me out, or it would if it didnt keep failing.
heres hoping that you can pass this concern on to the relevant team who can find a fix and not just blame channel 4 who will blame VM and i will be stuck in the middle with no hope.

I'm fairly sure the legacy TiVo box doesn't carry the C4-branded app. Are you sure you don't have a V6? This runs TiVo-software but is a very different box... https://www.virginmedia.com/care/tv-fault/which-tv-box
If you set a Series Link but use the "include all channels" rather than being C4-specific, it should pick up repeat showings on 4-Seven instead.

thanks for the info. i must have the V6 going by the pictures on your link. C4 advised that i should check i have the latest version of the software and uninstall then reinstall the app but i wouldnt know how to do that. I told them i had TIVO but the help menu they sent me didnt match what i get on screen.
i have set a series link and managed to catch up the last 3 episodes tonight with only 1 short incident of buffering but at least i didnt have to reboot everything.

Both TiVo & V6 both run TiVo software, but are very different hardware. That sounds like standard advice from C4 who haven't thought through that VM's TV boxes are not like smartphones or mobile devices and don't have an app store or uninstall options.
TiVo-software's option to have series links covering multiple or single channels is pretty powerful, C4 with their catch-up channels 4-Seven is an ideal use for it.
