When you change plan ie 260 to 350 how long does it take virgin do the change and is it automatic ie you don't have to interfere with the hub

The VM Hub only picks up a new speed profile when it is restarted.
Refer to the Hub menu page Check Router Status >>> Configuration to see the current Downstream & Upstream speed profile.

Thanks for that info. Do you get any indication or message that a new speed profile is awaiting or is it trial and error. I changed plan yesterday afternoon so how long would virgin take to produce the new [profile

If you changed plan over the phone it's usually actioned immediately, any other method generally takes around 3 days as the change needs to be performed manually. Sadly there is currently a backlog with manual changes and they can take up to 14 days.
