Virgin Media Hub 3 in modem mode - second internet connection?

I have a Google WiFi mesh connected to my Virgin Media Hub 3 in modem mode and all's fine. My PC takes the only ethernet connection from the Google router so I would like to take a second ethernet connection from the hub direct to my TPLink network but there is no internet connection. Is that just a limitation of the hub in modem mode? My work around is to connect the PC with WiFi and the TPLink to the Google router but I would like the faster speed on the PC.

When in modem mode there is only one active port on the hub that goes to your router, you cannot use the other ports. What you need is a 5 port network switch plugged into your router to connect the devices. You can get one for about £15 from Amazon and other online retailers.

Yes you need a switch if you had got a normal router it would of had four ports you would of been able to use
