So a long time ago, I ran a cable from my living WiFi router to my loft to another WiFi router. This was to accommodate my son whose bedroom is up there to allow him to play his Xbox. The original router was a bt hub router. I have since changed to virgin media and I haven’t been able to set up the new router. Can anyone help or assist me here?

Usually I start with a PC or Laptop cable connected to the Router in question.
I manually set the PC or laptop to be in the IP range of the Router so I can access the Router admin menu
and then make what ever configuration changes are needed.

The BT Hub may have a static IP address that needs changing to the same range as the VM Hub. Just use one that's outside the DHCP scope of the VM Hub, 192.168.0.9 for example. The gateway would be 192.168.0.1 and 255.255.255.0 for the Subnet.
