Issues over speeds with boosters + Can they be reconfigured with a new ISP?

I have 3 virgin pods but the speed around my house can vary for example buffering sometimes but that may be down to an old laptop being used to stream?

Can we can reconfigure Virgin pods/boosters that had to be registered with Virgin before they can be turned on with a new ISP?

The VM pods belong to VM and must be returned when you leave. They only work when linked to a VM hub.

My name is NOT Alessandro. That's just a tag Virginmedia sticks on some contributors. Please ignore it.

Where have you got the pods, often they are incorrectly placed. Pods must be half way between the VM hub and the WiFi device. They should NOT be in the same room as they would get exactly the same strength signal as the WiFi device. Contrary to popular terminology, you cannot ‘boost’ a WiFi signal. You can only extend its range.

Hi @hexank

Welcome to the community forums

Sorry to hear you still have coverage concerns in the home with 3 pods.

The WiFi pods will only work on our network, provisioned to our networking equipment in default settings.

We've not been able to locate you on the systems on our side to check this for you. Please ensure that you're using our equipment in default WiFi settings as this may affect the WiFi pods. This means both 2.5ghz and 5ghz are not split and broadcasting together with channel optimisation on.

You might need to play around with the positioning of our pods, they'll need to be placed in an area where there is still a good signal strength between the area that needs the boost and the router itself. Ensure the pods are also placed in a mains socket and not an extension. in a well-ventilated area without any other devices that broadcast signals (Bluetooth, Radiowaves) around it.

Please let us know if you are having any further issues or have any questions at all. We'll be here to help on the community forums if needed

So your getting a buffering connection and the first thing you want to do is keep VM pods when moving to another ISP....😑
