How to order wifi extender?

Yetiboyuk

I am struggling with speed and I now recognise it is my tp link adapters choking speed from router to my son's PC in the loft via plug.

I understand being an O2 and virgin customer that I can get some free wifi extenders are they network plus as well. I have tried to order these through the Connect app, but just get stuck in an endless cycle of not being able to order a pod. Tried on multiple devices, run all the speed tests, etc.

How do you actually speak to someone about getting help with this?

Same here!. We've had VM broadband for a few months now. We had some initial speed issues and an engineer came out and replaced the router. We have a large 5 bedroomed house and he told us he would order an extra pod, but it never arrived. I managed to speak to a CS agent a while later and they also confirmed they would send an extra pod - never arrived.

Now when I try to do it via the app I end up going in circles where I can never actually speak to an agent to raise the issue despite logging slow donwload speeds / black spots in some areas of the house. Can someone please tell me how I can speak to someone to resolve this? Many thanks!

Hey Yetiboyuk, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry you are struggling to get a pod ordered.

Let me send you a DM as you mentioned if you are volt customer they are free otherwise £8 per month.

In a large 5 bedroomed house I would look at getting your own equipment to solve the wifi issues - particularly if their Pod isnt "free" to you.

If you can run ethernet cable from the Hub easily, then invest in a couple of wifi access points with 1GB Ethernet ports and situate them in the "dead zones" - something like this..

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Wireless-802-11ax-Standalone-Separate-Networks/dp/B09925PHCZ/

other cheaper or more expensive ones are available

Or take a look at a Mesh system (triple pack) - as an example see the TP-Link Deco range

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & TNT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi), Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

Rather than starting a new thread I jump on this. I have 1gb volt and get 1.2g at the hub. Living in a town house the speed drops to 130meg just one floor down and can less further down. Running the connect app says that the service is great. I have been on the help to order a pod but the website is circular asks me to log on takes me to a page then back to log on. I need probably two pods can anyone advise how I go about this.

Hi leeeeeel,

Thanks for your post and welcome to our community.

We're sorry to hear about the issues you're having with the WiFi speed.

There is some helpful information here on how to improve this.

What are the lowest WiFi speeds being recorded via speed tests in the home please?

Please pop back to us when you can.

VM only promise 30Mbps with their Pods. As advised above, there are better ways to cover a large house.
