I received a Black Friday offer from email@em.virginmedia.com offering an upgrade on my broadband package (£3 extra for 18 months to go up one speed tier). The link already had my name and address populated and knew which package I'm on but it asked for my phone number which I entered.
Following this I received an email from WebCampaigns@virginmedia.co.uk confirming the package upgrade.
I have read previous posts in which it's mentioned that these are genuine Virgin Media email addresses however there are a few things that ring alarm bells. Firstly, it's mentioned that Virgin would never ask for personal information either in an email or in a link from one. The copyright is also out of date on the offer link (it says 2022) and when I spoke to a customer service rep on the phone there was no mention of the upgrade on my account. I have forwarded the email to Virgin phishing team.
Can anyone here offer any advice or help? I'm worried these email addresses have been spoofed and I've fallen victim to a scam!

I got this also today an accepted offer got an email advising it would go live within 5 working days. It was a 30 day rolling offer that could be lowered again if wanted. They asked for contact number as well. Is this legit or spam.

Hi @A2GMAN
I can see you've spoke to the team since posting - did you get the order sorted?
Best wishes.

Black Friday deal not working. - Virgin Media Community - 5445889 - this was the email i got too. also the offer i got was not the upgrade i was offered. i got up to 350mb instead of 500mb for 9 pound extra. but i have called up so many times this month about the upgrade mix up and the black Friday offer. im hippie with getting 350mb for 35 pounds in the end.
