Got an SMS from 353861803xxx regarding a technician appointment, is this a scam?

Hi,

I received a message from the number 353861803xxx asking for me to respond with Yes to confirm an appointment for a technician tomorrow

I was under the impression that the technician wasn't meant to be calling until next week, so wasn't expecting this.

Is it a valid number used by Virgin Media?

That number is 12 digits and UK numbers are only 11 and always start with a 0. I believe it’s probably an overseas number. I have asked for the number to be removed from the post as per the board rules.
