Call from unrecognised number saying they VM

Had a call from this number today - [MOD EDIT: Potential spoofed number] claiming to be VM to talk about about my account that is due for renewal

however it’s not due for renewal as I did it about 6 weeks ago online. Is this number legit and who can I call to check. Thanks in advance.

Sorry to hear of the unwanted and unexpected call received today.

We are aware of scammer’s currently cold calling customers of our services, and rival companies, posing at Virgin Media, with the aid of number spoofing.

We'd not be able to confirm on "face value" whether or not the number was ours or some group that has "spoofed" our number.  What I can do is reach out to you privately, confirm some details with you and see if there's any notes etc, in your account.  Please keep an eye on your inbox in the top right of your screen.
