Welcome to the forum. I'm afraid you're in a very long queue of people experiencing exactly the same issues. Unfortunately, Virgin Media have decided that the best course of action is to instruct their customer services team to issue false delivery dates and blame third parties who are nothing to do with the problem, which is due to an issue at one of Virgin's own warehouses.
Additionally, Virgin employees who post on this forum have now been deleting posts that they've previously made to try to cover their tracks. There's a thread here where people are sharing their updates, might be worth bookmarking it as I get the feeling we're going to be here a while!

It's mad, isn't it? Would imagine there are some rather heated discussions going on at boardroom level!
In the interests of fairness, I've since found out that the warehouse affected is not Virgin Media's own warehouse – it's run by GXO, and other companies use the warehouse and are affected by the leak, including giffgaff. It's certainly nothing to do with Yodel, though!

Hey Zedcor, Due to an incident at a warehouse operated by one of our third-party suppliers, some customers are experiencing delays receiving their orders. We are working with our partner to expedite deliveries as soon as possible, have directly contacted those customers affected to apologise and will keep them updated
