Non-Delivered QuickStart Kit

As many have posted, I also have not received my QuickStart kit, despite moving in to my new house yesterday, which was when it was meant to be delivered.

Despite receiving a text in the morning saying it would be delivered today, I received a text two hours later saying it had been cancelled - given it is clearly a known issue, given the volume of posts on the same topic, this is absolutely ridiculous to keep me in the dark until the day. I work from home regularly and so had no ability to make a change and figure something out.

It feels extremely scummy, to keep customers in the dark and then when I called up, I was told it was an issue with Yodel due to the storm - that is also clearly not the case, as other customers have been told different things last week.

We are currently stuck without internet for who knows how long, and we are very unsure what we can do - is there any action we can take with the communications ombudsman? Can I physically go and collect the kit from somewhere?

  • I saw a reply to a post on here today from a VM rep saying they have had warehouse issues but have sorted a temporary warehouse and are now working through the backlog. Estimated time to clear the backlog is by 20th December.

This is the most information I've seen from a VM rep (and VM in general) so far. How true it is after the last few days of lies is yet to be seen.

Given their links with O2, they should at the very least be offering O2 mobile routers to affected customers in the mean time, but I suspect those are also stuck in that warehouse… Are they at least going to offer financial compensation? You’d hope so at a minimum!

Virgin are obliged to pay £6.10 in compensation for every day that the service is not installed, according to other posters on this forum. I don't have the information to verify that myself, but they sounded pretty clear about it.

If that date is true it’s an absolute shambles.

        Knows their stuff

It also does not help those who used the one touch switch system as you could be over another billing period due to delay and be over the total switch time allowed. Also Dec 20th right next to Christmas. If you get cut off, no broadband as you may still be waiting for kit.

I note that post by Kath, VM rep has been deleted now...
