Virgin is blocking sites without my say so

Just moved in and purchased the Gig1 fibre broadband package. Its all been fine but now a week into living here, various websites are completely blocked on some devices. Reddit for example is usable on the pc i am making this post on but on my phone or my friends laptop, we need a vpn to access the site. What can i do to get these restrictions off?
