Hello,
I am about to move into a new flat that doesn't currently have Virgin available and would like to arrange for a spotter to come and take a look at the possibility of having Virgin installed for my flat.
Virgin is available in the properties either side of my block of flats, and I will be located at the front where cabling could be added on the exterior of the property with ease, the landlord is happy for this to take place.
Let me know what I need to do next.

Hi @danshaw509
Welcome to the community forums
It's great to hear you're interested in joining us.
If a spotter hasn't been recently already to assess the building for serviceability then these can be requested by our new customer sales team who have the tools to check this at their side. You can contact new customer sales on 0800 183 1234 and they'll be able to assist you further in seeing if this is possible.

Hi Carley,
I have been in touch with the customer sales team and been transferred between them and the cable care team a number of time, and been told that I would have to wait 6-18 months for a serviceability assessment, they didn't appear to understand that the street already has Virgin, and just my building/flat doesn't.
Is there anything you can do to arrange an engineer visit for me as I would like to go with Virgin for the much better speeds than the FTTC connections available if at all possible?
Many thanks

If they've advised that they're unable to send a spotter for a service assessment then this would more than likely mean that there's already been one recently that has advised that we're unable to provide a service at this time to the building/flat or previous wayleave permissions for the works have been rejected. This can happen even if there are Virgin Media services in the area or with neighbours. To name a few reasons it could be that the area cannot facilitate any further customers due to network traffic and needs to wait for either expansion works or improvements to be made and/or wayleave to be able to supply the property has been rejected, either from the landowner or council.
We aren't able to arrange engineer visits or process any new customer installs over community forums. I appreciate that this isn't the news you wanted to hear. Have you registered your interest to join us from the postcode checker? If so, we'll be in touch when we're doing work that will allow service to the property in the future.
