I ordered a VM package online and still haven’t been contacted about an installation date? Is this common? I waited in on the “provisional date” given, but no engineer arrived.

Call the Pre-installation and delivery team on 0800 052 1734 open 8:00am to 9:00pm Mon to Fri, and 8:00am to 6:00pm Sat and Sun. and see if they can help or book a Tech install. Or call the Sales team on 0800 183 1234 and see what they say

as an aside - the 'provisional' date you have been given is or should be regarded as the install date if and wend you want to go through the dance with VM to get your compensation of about £6 a day from that date - if and when you do that VM will argue its provisional so try to reduce what you are owed - have non of it and further have nothing to do with offers of £20 or so to end any compensation claim
keep records of install visits that did not happen when they require you to be there - each one of those is another £30 in your pocket and if you are driven to the point you want nothing to do with them dont cancel let them blunder on until they finally get you installed and cancel in the first 14 days foc and take your compensation either by ways of an agreed amount with them or via the arbitrator
