Brown box damaged

I am a new customer to VM and did not know what the brown box on the side of the house was until just now. This box is being held together with electrical tape with wires coming out the side. As a new VM customer I do not want this to cause any connection issues. Is there anything I can check to make sure everything is in the correct position?
