I ordered Virgin Media Gig1 Fibre broadband around the 16th December 2023. I had an engineer visit on the 12th of January 2024 to confirm that outside work needs to be done as there is no fibre optic cable going to my home. It is now the 30th of April 2024 and it still hasn't been done.
When I ordered it back in December 2023, I gave them a go live date of the 3rd May 2024 and was told it will definitely be ready (Lie number 1). Virgin Media then changed to go live date to the middle of March 2024 (Lie number 2). The week before then, it got delayed two weeks and keeps getting delayed two weeks ever since.
On the 01 April 2024, two contractors turned up and I actually thought they were going to do the outside work. How wrong was I!!! They were sent to drill a hole through our wall for the cable to go through!!! I now have an install date of Friday 10th of May 2024 when it was supposed to be yesterday (29th April 2024).
I spoke with someone in the preinstallation team on 25th April 2024 and they said all the paperwork has been signed, they've had to order a cable which will take 48 hours to arrive. I then get an email on Friday 26th April 2024 saying my installation has been put on hold! I phoned up to be told that there is building work going on that is preventing them from doing the outside work. Guess what?!! There is no building work going on anywhere near my street!
I've lost count the amount of times Virgin Media have lied to me throughout!!
These have to be the worst company I have ever dealt with!!! You just have to go through the community forum's, it's full of complaints!!!

Unfortunately, your wait of several months is quite routine in the many similar stories on here. The record wait is around 18 months which resulted in a blockbuster payout in compensation

You too will be eligible for compensation, which VM will very likely try to dodge paying with talk of 'provisional' installation dates and delays for 'council permits'.
Keep detailed records of all VM's failures in a timeline format, along with linked evidence, which will help you when you inevitably have to go to arbitration to claim whatever compensation you might be due

Hi there
Thanks for your post, and a very warm welcome to the Community Forums.
I am so sorry to hear your installation has been delayed for so long, this is really disappointing
I'll pop you over a private message so I can grab your details and have a look into this for you, I'll also ensure a complaint has been raised.
Thanks
