routing problems to Google DNS?

(Manchester, VM broadband wired, everything else is working fine)

It looks like there's some routing problems, only to Google's DNS servers, and I'm failing to resolve any google.com or similar;

traceroute/mtr to the IPs of ns2.google.com ( 216.239.34.10 ) and ns4 ( 216.239.38.10 ) shows it intermittently failing in manc-core-2b-ae93-650.network.virginmedia.net

It's working fine from my none virgin-media connections.

Down-detector is showing a big spike in Google problems centred around Manchester and London, so not just me; not sure if it's only VM or not.

Please forward to someone with a hammer near VMs corp routers.

Finally someone else in the South Glasgow area with the same issue. Virgin were trying to convince me it was localised to Bristol/Gloucestershire area and only Google sites. 

Yep. It seems to be VERY localised (probably down to the previous comment regarding public IP addresses). G75 postcode < 2miles away and Virgin customers are working fine, but not me.

G74 area and I have the issues also. I’ve got a VM engineer coming out today but not sure what good that will be if it’s a routing issues perhaps?? 
but it was VM that said I require an engineer. 
Does anyone use MS teams? I see issues with that also with images not loading etc since this issue started. 

MSFT Teams is impacted for me as well. 1 machine can get incoming messages but can't send anything. The other can send but receive nothing and most of the online status & other calendar integrations fail to load.

Does this include the CLOUDFLARE routing/peering issue that hasn't been answered in another thread that may be specific to some areas or all areas? By another ISP or over cellular 4G/5G and sites behind Cloudflare work fine, since beginning of May 24, it's intermittent when on Virgin Media Broadband as tested on family member's broadband and other forum members.

Exact same issue in ML2. Watch out that you don't get charged for the visit because it's a DNS issue when attempting to reach Azure MCAS sites, including Single Sign On which is why only text is coming through on Teams. I've been trying to work using my mobile hotspot but I've only got a few 100Mb left before I start getting charges on my bill.

Are you going to remove the Resolved status from this post since you don't even have a diagnosis yet, let alone a fix?

Thanks PMilne87 for the heads up I’ll be sure to say I don’t want changed lol after all I did advise I don’t think I need an engineer but they said I do when I was on the call with them yesterday. So will see what they say when they come out. 
Thats good to know regarding teams though I wasn’t sure how it worked so was getting confused when I wasn’t getting images through.
