Wired Booster (PG-9073LG-VM model) sparking/smoking

Hello - after returning to an unoccupied home, I switched on my VM Wired booster and was alarmed to have it emit sparks (fairly excessively) and smoke until I interrupted the power supply at the mains to carefully remove it from the wall socket.

Can you please explain the process for me to discuss what happened/engage with a VM team member? I'm pretty concerned as you would imagine.VM1.jpgVM2.jpg

These are known to have this issue.

See this     https://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Networking-and-WiFi/Booster-popped-with-smoke-coming-out/m-p/55...

Unplug and remove it right now.  A VM person will respond soon and ask you to return it to them - you should get a Pod replacement

I do not work for VM. My services: HD TV on VIP (+ Sky Sports & Movies & TNT sport), x3 V6 boxes (1 wired, 2 on WiFi), Hub5 in modem mode with Apple Airport Extreme Router +2 Airport Express's & TP-Link Archer C64 WAP. On Volt 350Mbps, Talk Anytime Phone, x2 Mobile SIM only iPhones.

Below would be the current equivalent, it may be worth considering if VM Pods which are a fully locked down to your VM Hub Wi-Fi Repeater that enforces use of a single SSID does not suit.
