WiFi Pods requested.

I’m really concerned that despite paying for Gig1 broadband, because on a speed test in my loft room that came in at over 30MB download speed, I am being told I can’t have WifiPods.

I find this unreasonable given my speed is intermittent and way below 1GB in this room. In addition my package, as far as I know, includes access to WifiPods.

How do I go about getting this WifiPods?

Dear VM team,

I’ve just signed up to Gig1 and have successfully installed the Hub 5.

However within my office room in the loft, the WiFi signal drops in and out and is poor. I enquired on 2 separate phone calls re WiFi Pods (which I expect will solve the issue), however I was told unless download speeds drop below 30MB then this cannot be sent out.

I find this very surprising, as I’m paying for 1GB speeds and intermittent and weak WiFi just doesn’t seem reasonable. I understand my package should in any event enable me to have WiFi Pods.

Please can you advise? I would like to get WiFi pods to resolve this issue.

Many thanks

If you are getting over 30 Mbps then that exceeds VM's guaranteed speeds and you are not eligible for Pods.

Install Powerline adapters and use Ethernet and get rid of Wifi

Thank you for your post, welcome to the Community Forums.

I'm sorry to hear that you aren't receiving your expected speeds in certain parts of your home. I can appreciate the frustration with the difference in your wireless speeds to your advertised speeds.

WiFi signals are like radio waves, so they can be affected by other things like electronic equipment, thick walls and even fish tanks. We do have some information available here for how to get the best out of your home WiFI set up.

We can see that you do have a home visit booked in with us - please let us know how things are after this visit and if you are still struggling with your connection.

All the best
