Virgin Media and old CATV ductwork.

Hi all, due to have a bb install on Wednesday. This house is the 3rd up on a private driveway. The path at the bottom has Virgin signage on black plastic caps. Up to my house is green ductwork which goes right up to the house to a box on the wall that says COMTEL and a very old Swindon Cable sticker. In the middle of the driveway right outside my house is a CATV manhole. Email correspondence from VM says we’ve not had the service before (we did about 30 years ago when Swindon Cable!) and they may have to dig the driveway up and this would require agreement from the other 2 houses as a shared driveway. My question is would they not be able to pull new cables through the existing CATV ducting assuming VM would own all this after swallowing up NTL who last owned it after they themselves took over COMTEL many years ago?

Presumably, there will be some sort of cable termination in the existing wall box.  Right?  They'd use that.  My cable is 30 years old and doesn't need renewing.
