Wi-fi 6 now wi-fi 7 routers available now, why are VM customers on top packages not given updated routers. Been loyal to VM over 20 years but left lagging behind with outdated router?

Invest in your own router/mesh system/access points and stop relying on cheap rented kit, especially from an ISP that use their own proprietary hardware that is developed over years, which by that time is already outdated.
Loyalty means nothing to VM.

Last month the OP posted demanding Wi-Fi 6, this month it is Wi-Fi 7.
Post you odds below for the OP wanting Wi-Fi 10 before the year is done !

I’m guessing the majority of VM users don’t have >1Gb tiers, so WiFi 5 is quite sufficient. Other than that “power” users wouldn’t be using ISP supplied kit and prefer to use their own kit.

If you're talking about the new EE Hub yours for either a 24 month contract at £69.99 or £79.99 a month or £10 a month on top of a lower package.
If you want one that badly you know where to go. Brand new customers only right now so as long as you're happy to pay £70 a month for 24 months you're good to go.

Maybe it is time for VM to look after customers who pay for higher tiers and help "power users", we pay for it over the years of loyalty. Older kit is less secure ?

I would never ever use a VM hub except in modem mode even if it had WiFi 7. There are so many needed functions that are not available on VM hubs. No VLANS and lack of SSIDs to just name two. My WiFi 7 access point allows for 24 SSIDs, 8 for each band. Try getting this speed other than with a wired access point:

Why are ISP charges so high using outdated low security routers ??
