Just got Hub4. (2.4gz + 5gz) Now my Smart plugs (2.4gz) and remote keyboard (2.4gz) won't work.
Do I have to set separate passwords on the Hub router to separate the 2.4 and 5? And then turn off the 5gz and then set up the plugs again?
Or
What effect will turning off the 5gz permanently have?

Firstly, if you have it, do not use the Connect app in any of this, and I would advise uninstalling it prior to undertaking any work.
Try disabling the 5Ghz first, and connect your 2.4Ghz kit. If that does not work, then try a separating the SSID's.
As for the Connect app, it will try to put split bands back to a single SSID, and there have been reports of the app also resetting any replacement Hub's SSID back to the same as the previous Hub. Personally I would never use this app, but do any admin work directly on the Hub via the admin console.

A practical way to get kit to work is to re-configure the SSID / Password of the new Hub 4
to be what ever SSID/Password was used with the previous Hub.
Failing this, the Smart plugs and keyboard need to be factory reset and installed as if new devices
following the makers installation process to the letter.
Typically VM Hubs in Router mode are subject to VM's Wi-Fi Policy and will
turn both WI-Fi bands back on after a few hours.
The Connect app has a menu option to restore the last Hub settings to a replacement Hub, this appears to carry forward the SSID / Password & not always right away which leads to real confusion when the customer has reconfigured their kit only to find a day later it all goes off line.
Connect app also has a corrupting effect on the Hub 4, if the Hub 4 menu accepts the password and then displays a blank screen the damage is already done. The Connect app must be uninstalled before a 60 second press of Hub 4 RESET is attempted.

Hey Turnips, thank you for reaching out and a very warm welcome to the community I am so sorry to hear about this.
Has any of the advice helped at all?
If not please do try this;
Unplug any Ethernet cables attached to the router and wait at least 30 seconds, then plug them back in. Plug the router's power cable back into the outlet. Plug the modem back in and wait until the modem has finished powering on. Wait at least 2 minutes for your Pods' LEDs to stop blinking.
