Port Forwarding to WD My Cloud Home

Hi There

I'm trying to configure my new WD External Hard drive but it is automatically in relay mode which is restricting its use.

WD have advised me the router needs to enable Port Forwarding but I do not know how to do this - I have a Hub 5 - can I get help from Virgin Support?

Thanks!

Ok - so I've found where to access port forwarding.
I do know the IP address of the WD device .
What I don't know is what to add for all the other fields on this screen. Any ideas?

Well if you don't know the IP how would I know?

This is something you should know or ask WD what IP your device is on

I'm guessing the hub can't tell you?

Read again - I DO know the address of the device... It's obvs not in the pic, but I know that I can type that in when I get there.

But thanks for answering without helping... I guess?

I guess VM really have made router mode complicated to use.

Put in the ports WD say to put in if one port the same for start and end or a range

I'm assuming that when you say external hard drive, you mean Network drive and not a USB drive plugged into your router.  Is that correct?

What is the model number of the drive?

You probably need to set up two port forwards..

Should be:

Local IP - you know what this is, put the last octet of the address in the field

Local start port: 80

Local end port:80

External Start port: 8080

External endport: 8080

Protocol: TCP

Enabled: Yes

Then the same again but:

Local start port: 443

Local end port:443

External Start port: 8443

External endport: 8443

When accessing the device from outside your network (i.e. over hte internet) then you would go to https://your.ip.address:8443 or http://your.ip.address:8080
