Lied to about cancellation multiple times-and other lies

I signed up for Virgin in my new home on September 30th. The salesman offered me assurance of connection in 10 days (I have been waiting 2 months for sky to install..the date is now the 28th). I told the salesperson I wanted the 1gb package. I later recieved an email saying my install date will be the 28th. I received a phone call from the salesman saying tho ignore the email and he’d get it earlier. He also decided to sign me up for 500gb instead “because it was a better deal”. I did mot challenge him on that as I decided in that moment I will be cancelling.

October 1st I called to cancel. After a drawn out sales pitch I was told by the advisor I was cancelled. This was a lie. I recieved no confirmation of cancellation and my account shows no information of cancellation.

I phoned again and spoke to another advisor. I went through the exact same process with the exact same result.

I have filed an official Ofcom complaint. My next step will be to take it to the ombudsmen with all of my recorded evidence unless my account is immediately cancelled tomorrow.

Broader warning to anyone thinking of using virgin: DON’T. My situation is common and you can find similar examples throughout various social medias. They will lie to you and make borderline fraudulent financial decisions on your behalf without your consent.

I would appreciate a forum staff member to contact me regarding cancellation.

Hello Bonjie,

Welcome to the community and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your account cancellation. This is far from the service that you should be receiving from us. Have you been able to get any further clarification since you last posted or do you still require assistance?

Kind Regards,
