Hub 5 and WiFi Pod compatibility

About a month ago we upgraded to 1Gb broadband and were sent a Hub 5. Previously VM had sent me a WiFi booster pod (the White model, VM-SP01, I think a rebranded Plume Superpod?). I had never used the WiFi pod as I had a separate mesh network, however, with the faster broadband and WiFi 6 available on the Hub 5, I decided to try using the WiFi pod.

I have faithfully followed the instructions and can never get the pod to join/extend the WiFi network. I've tried leaving it for several days (as according to VM it can take "several hours to join the WiFi network" which makes no sense to me), I've also tried moving it to various locations closer and further from the Hub 5. Nothing makes any difference.

Someone on here kindly suggested that VM need to activate/pair the pod with the new router - I phoned the activation number and had a quite confused VM support person who didn't really seem to understand what the issue was, eventually he suggested to me that the "White pods" aren't compatible with the Hub 5.

A support call has supposedly been opened but I'm curious if anyone else knows if this combination of devices will work together ok?

VM Activation Team are the right people to re-pair a VM Pod to a replacement Hub.

VM Pods only work with VM Hubs in Router mode.    The White VM Pods are Wi-Fi 4 / Wi-Fi 5 ( not Wi-Fi 6 ) but they can work with a Hub 5 provided VM have paired the VM Pods to the replacement Hub.

I'd stick with the Mesh that you have, a reliable Wi-Fi signal is far more important that trying to find the last ounce of speed.  Plus Hub 5 Wi-Fi 6 has proved to be inoperable with many IoTs and 2.4GHz only devices.

Thanks for your post. Sorry to hear about your Pod not locking onto your network.

What I can do from here is take a look at getting this resolved for you. Usually they do tend to settle after around 24 hours, however it also possible to provision them from here as it appears you have tried this already.

If you can check your logo at the top right of your screen that would be great.
