Broadband installed yesterday and the technician told me someone else would be coming out the same day to bury the cable that is currently lying from the source point that goes across the front lawn to the house. He said it would be the same day as it was a trip hazard and left cones out to highlight the exposed cable. Nobody has turned up and it has been over 24 hours now, to the point that neighbours have started asking us about it. Who do I speak to about getting this resolved?

Post up some photos here for starters - so the mods here can assess the job - and then call the Pre-installation and delivery team on 0800 052 1734 open 8:00am to 9:00pm Mon to Fri, and 8:00am to 6:00pm Sat and Sun. and get them to sort it
Remember - you have 14 days in which you can cancel the whole contract free of any charges - if you dont get it sorted to your satisfaction before then

Hi DMORR2409,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the community.
I'm very sorry to hear about the cable. Has anyone been out to get this resolved?

Be careful not to let that 14 days slip by.

I don't want to cancel, it's taken them 6 weeks to get it installed. Just want someone to come and bury the cables as its currently a trip hazard.

When they did mine it was stick a spade in about an inch or two. “Wiggle” an opening and push the cable down. If I had known that I would have done it myself on the day.

Yes, well aware of that. However, both the old cable of 20+ years, and the new pulled cable are just stuck un the soil. If a builder hadn't cut the old cable in two places, it would still be working, hence the repull. As an aside, the Openreach fibre is in conduit and buried about 5 times deeper. The difference is both VM installs were done by the engineer at the time, but the Openreach one was done by Contractors who also dug the footpath for the Toby etc.. They had lots of "big diggers" to do the work ... 🙂

Hey DMORR2409, thank you for reaching out and I am sorry to hear about, also a warm welcome to the community.
Have the team advise why there is a delay?
Have they given you a time / date for this ?
Have you heard anything from us since Monday?
