Following on from what Oscar1820 has said, I have authorisation to renew my Dad’s package as he doesn’t get a lot of the jargon. I phoned Virgin after they’d botched several attempts at contacting him and renewing (they’d said they’d renewed his contract and yet hadn’t.. why I can only wonder as it’s in their best interests to).

I went through to offshore retentions (bummer…) and the person I spoke to claimed to have upgraded us to the Mega Volt, same broadband (250Mbit), 230+ channels, some phone package I don’t remember because we don’t use it - but specifically said TNT was included. And as you’ve discovered here, it’s not.


My Dad wanted TNT and immediately noticed so I released within 5 minutes of hanging up that I was lied to.

So I phoned back and offshore “add a new service” eventually added it on for £4/month and put the broadband up to 350Mbit. To be fair, the guy I spoke to this time round was very good and apologetic and a supervisor had to override the package price etc - the whole thing did still take another hour of my time though. 

So total for phone (don’t know what it’s called, speak anytime for an hour to 01,02,03), 350Mbit, Mega Volt + TNT came to £69/month. Shown as £74 on bill, discounted to £69. 18 month contract.

Original price with 250Mbit and without TNT was £65/month, 18 month. 

I myself have been with Virgin for over a decade and find that their call centres are wavering in recent years. The reason I am with you is because Sky SUCK. They arguably have nicer TV Hardware and ATLANTIC. But I stick with you.

Don’t throw your customer service and retentions to the dogs. It was one of your pinnacles.

Quite a few of Sky's flagship Atlantic shows are now being simulcast on Sky Showcase.
