Number Port delayed and can’t extend cancellation

I had put my 30 day notice to Virgin and was due to go with Sky Broadband on 09th January 2024.

my disconnection with Virgin broadband is 13/01/2024.

Sky have had to delay until latest 30/01/2024 as there was issues with external cable.

I called Virgin to ask to have my cut off date extended but was told Sky Ported my number on 09/01/2024 and so they can’t extend cut off and to request Sky to cancel export.

Sky are saying the Port has been delayed and my number is still with Virgin.

any help greatly appreciated as I can’t go weeks without internet when I sometimes work from home.

on my 4th attempt to Virgin I had a helpful lady who said she could see the port was delayed and my number still with Virgin.  She said she would submit a form to put in for broadband extension until 30/01/24 and a note on my file.  If I receive an email saying disconnect 13/01/24 then to worry but if I hear nothing all is fine.

Nothing has been confirmed so I feel a bit in limbo as to whether my services will disconnect on Saturday as I had never received an email to begin with when I put my 30 day notice in.

So after doing private message I’m being told number port is still for 14th January 2024 so nothing can be done!

The number port was for 09th January 2024 but delayed due to Openreach needing to do more work so it’s delayed.  My number is still with Virgin and getting told different things by different people.  I’m not bothered about my number, it’s my broadband I asked to extend but seems like such an issue with getting told different things and dates by so many people now.
