My 80 year old father is paying so much money each month for TV channels he doesn't use but virgin have said they are part of a package. The problem is he pays by direct debit and no longer gets any bills sent to him by post or through email which means he can't access his account online as he doesn't know his account number. Would a phone call to virgin be able to give him account number so he can access his account online to see what he doesn't need.

Personally, I would suggest you wait here for a VM Mod to respond to this thread. They will deal with this in a couple of days directly with your Father using PM. This will be a far better method that trying to explain over the phone to the CS department.
Also depending on circumstances, there is also the Social Tariff price, that all ISP must provide to those who need it.
The TV is generally bundled with VM packages, and it may be more expensive to remove it. However if you Father is "out of contract" i.e. passed the 18 month stage, then perhaps Retentions can get you a better deal?

Hello conikco2,
Thanks for your first post and welcome to our community.
Sorry to hear about your father's account and package. With this being posted by yourself and not the account holder. We're limited to what we can do from here.
We can look at the best possible package available on your father's behalf. it's just that we can't apply it through a 3rd party unless they have power of attorney on the account.
If we found a new package that suits, we can save it on the account and you can call to apply it.
Hope that helps?
I will send you a private message to take some details and pass security anyway.
If you can check your logo at the top right of your screen that would be great.
