Hi
I’m trying to create an account on my virgin media after signing up to a broadband package. However my email address has a - in and the website won’t accept - as a valid email address character.

I have been able to fix it.
I used a random address to create the account, I was then able to change it to my actual address after successfully registering.

Hi SBF,
Thanks for your post and welcome to our community.
We're sorry to hear your email address isn't accepted due to the - included.
Is there another email address you can use please to register?
If so, please register here with that alternative email address.

Thanks for the reply Vicky.
Unfortunately no, the other addresses I can use all have the hypen in. The only other address I have is a very old @ntlworld one which stems from a family member's account - unfortunately ntlworld emails are rejected too.
There is clearly a problem with the data validation on the my virgin media sign up page. As having a hyphen in the domain of my email has never been a problem with any other website including actually signing up to VM and signing up to this forum. It’s a valid address so is clearly something your web developers need to check out.
