I’m usually good at knowing when contracts are coming to an end and negotiating new deals but for whatever reasons I missed the last one. I spoke to customer services and they’ve reduced my bill back down to what it was, saving me £30pm. Can I claim that £30 back for the period since my new contract started (May) or was it on me to have spotted it at the time?

VM should have told you the new rate when your contract ended, and if you didn't contact them to negotiate then you effectively agreed to it.

We're sorry to hear about the higher bill than you expected.
We would have sent a end of contract notification to you regarding the contract and so it would be on the customer to contact us.
