Hi - my contract (BB/Landline/TV) with Virgin ends 24th November 2024 and I intend to cancel all services from that date.
In the meantime - tomorrow actually - I am having Community Fibre installed free for 12 months, including "landline" service which I assume is VOIP.
They will initiate the number port request with VM tomorrow and it can take 12 days to port the number across. This will be before I give my 30 days notice to VM, so will the number port request trigger any sort of change to my account? I'm getting discounts at the moment, and I don't want to trigger any kind of activity that will remove those discounts (as if I'd gone out of contract for example).
Has anyone been through this process? Normally I'd time the new provider to start after the end of my VM contract but as it's free I can run it alongside VM until November 24th - just worried about the number port aspect!
Cheers
Andy

Hi Andy.
Thanks for posting and welcome back to the community. Sorry you wish to leave us, is there any reason.
Yes you'd have the price for the remaining other products which are seperate to the house phone, up until your disconnection date.
Your new provider will ask you if you wish to use the One Touch Switch service, which means you'd not need to contact us to give notice etc, however you'd need to consider disconnection fees if in contract until November 24th.
Any questions, let us know.
Best wishes.

I’ll be going with my new provider alongside Virgin, as the new provider is giving me free BB and Landline for 12 months. No need for me to use the one-switch as I will keep Virgin until 24th November, giving 30 days notice on 24th October.

Hi corbetta
No problem at all. It can usually take around 14 days for the number port to go through. Just let us know if there's anything else we can help you with
