Breakdown of bill

Tuning in

My contract is up next month. Thinking of keeping the broadband but ditching the TV. I want to know what the breakdown is so I can compare the tv offer to other options. Namely simply subscribe to various streaming platforms. I called Virgin, I assume there is no such thing as a UK call centre now? I found it incredibly difficult to get the information and when it was quoted I am not sure whether I got what I wanted. I have some sports channels as a deal for this latest, soon to expire, contract. What I wanted to know is the basic price for Maxit TV,   no sports at all, no add ons. Going to have to do it again but am I right in thinking that the breakdown isn't on my bills and there are no UK call centres now?

I ditched VM TV some time ago as there are so many way to get TV now.  However VM is a "triple play" seller and often the cost of broadband alone is more than the triple bundle.  To get the best deal you might have to say you are leaving VM and mean it!  Do your homework on alternatives.  You might get a call back from retentions offering a great deal just before you leave, or maybe not.  It's up to you.

As for UK call centres, it's hit and miss who you get when you phone, but mostly it will be overseas.

The breakdown isn't available anywhere.  All calls go through the same IVR so the first available agent answers the call.  For a greater chance of speaking to a UK agent it's best to call around 8am when lines first open.

Maxit TV is now obsolete. It was replaced by Mega TV in September 2023.  It has the same channels as the old Maxit TV with the exception of TNT Sports (TNT Sports is now an optional standalone add on @ £18 per month)

There is also Mixit TV which is basically freeview channels with a few more added.

You can compare the available channels (column1 and 3) on the following page
