Accidental ticket purchase

Hi,

I accidently purchased a ticket on pay-per-view channel. I didn't read the message that appeared and assumed it was asking for a parental control pin. As soon as I entered the pin I realised what I did and changed the channel - I didn't unlock the parental control pin on the next screen.

The account isn't mine and I'd like to avoid the awkward conversation of what I was up to! I'm even happy to pay for it myself just to take it off the bill.

Is it possible to cancel the purchase? How will the purchase appear on the bill? Will the account holder be notified?

Thanks

Hi there @Oops3

Thank you so much for your post and welcome to the community forums, it's great to have you here.

I am so sorry that you have faced this issue with some pay per view content. The purchase would not have gone through unless the code was fully entered. This would appear on the monthly bill as a pay per view charge if the purchase completed. We would not be able to remove the charge without speaking directly to the account holder.

Thank you.

Does it show exactly what I purchased?

I completely entered the pin and I think it said I had successfully completed the purchase, but then I think another prompt appeared for parental control which I didn't complete. Would the account have been charged for that?

I think it's a bit deceptive that the two screens look so similar and require the same inputs on the remote. It's an easy mistake to make, and if I didn't view the channel at all, why could they charge not be reverted?

There are plenty of other threads here discussing the same problem. The interface is not clear enough and it is too easy to make accidental purchases.

This was my first time making this mistake and certainly my last. I would be very grateful if the purchase could be wiped - especially given that as soon as I entered the pin I changed the channel and didn't actually continue to unlock the channel.

Any pay per view content does have a pop up that informs the customer of the purchase and does also need you to enter and confirm the pin in order to confirm the payment @Oops3

As stated, I am sorry but we would need to speak to the account holder to discuss removing any charges if they are on the bill. The charge would be only be added if the pin was entered and confirmed.
