new phone over internet very quiet

Since virgin switched our landline to 'over internet' (plugged into router we can barely hear the person calling us. Tried rebooting router, no change. Anybody any ideas?

Have you been able to try an alternative handset on the line?

We were about to do that, does it have to be DECT to?

We cannot recommend what handset to use. We can only ask that you try an alternative handset.
